United States is a big place...

Care to be a bit more specific as to where?

What is it exactly you wish to learn?
I know many extremely accomplished percussionists who have never set foot in a university...

There are several conservatoriums, but I'll let the U.S guys handle this one... :;): :)

There's the harbor conervatory in NYC, that specialized in latin music etc...www.harborconservatory.org it may not be considered a university but i think you can get credit through them...

also i know that Berklee College of Music in Boston has a percussion program you may want to look into...www.berklee.edu

also there is a drummers collective in NYC, where they teach latin percussion as well, http://www.thecoll.com

I made a couple of visits to study at Harbor Conservatory a few years back. There's some great teachers there (Johnny Almendra, George Delgado, Jose Madera, Greg Askew, to name a few), and I learnt a great deal. I don't know about sholarships, but the phone number is:

212-427-2244 ext 572

The adult admissions director is Robert Blumenthal.

Hope this helps!
