I am not in Charlotte, but what specifically are you looking to learn? (i.e. interesting the the rumba/folkloric aspect, playing in a latin band/latin jazz setting etc?)

Ralph,
I am interested in afro cuban style. Would that include rumba etc? Grew up hearing latin jazz and thats what sets my beat! What part of the state are you located?

I am in Winston Salem, about 1-1 1/2 away depending on where in Charlotte you are in...if your interested in driving up maybe we can work something out, i know a couple of rythms and stuff we can go over....a follow up question...how long have you been playing and what are you listening too, how old are you and where are you originally from out of state or out of country? you can private message me if you want at this point or whatever

I am 58 years old from New Jersey by way of New York. I have been wailing away on my Meinl's for about 7 months. I believe for me to get better I would benefit from instruction.
