Hi fellow Conga'ers,

Just wondering if anyone has some contact details for teachers in London. I am really looking for someone who is really enthusiastic and knows the London Conga music scene.

I have my own drums and have a good sense of rhythm just think it is about time I learnt some technique and hopefully start to play live with some people. Please PM me contact details via the board or pref email me at tombortoli[at]yahoo.com

Thanks in advance.

Cheers :D ,

Tom

Whenever I am in London I take a 2hour workshop with Daniel Maruzzo over at Planet Drum in Camden

He will talk to you see what you want and then prepare the lesson in advance with full notations for you to take away. He also lets you video the summary at the end so you have a reference re the 'feel' of the rhythms. (none of this 'it's a secret' bs). No need to bring drums there is enough for 3 drums set ups in the studio.

I believe there are group lesson but you need to sign up for the course

He will also tell you about the Rumba and Bata scene in the ol' town

These guys have the luxury of yearly unrestricted travel to Cuba and they always whisk away any visiting congueros from Cuba for a day or two to suck em dry.
