Milton Cardona RIP. He was the kind of player that was able to play
traditional styles(Rumba, Bomba, Plena, "Santeria") seamlessly but at
the same time a very progressive percussionist.

Yes indeed, a great Conguero. Played for top bands of salsa golden era like Willie Colon, Héctor Lavoe, Frankie Dante, etc. Rip

I can remember as a kid when I first heard Mr. Milton Cardona play congas on the Willie Colon and Hector Lavoe track "Pa' Columbia" it started a burning desire in me to learn how to play percussion. His beautiful rifts, slaps and combinations thereof made me save enough money (That feat wasn't easy back in the 60's for me or my family) to buy my first instrument which was a second hand used wooden bodied quinto but that's all I needed at the time and was well worth the investment. Thank you for the inspiration Señor Cardona, Que Descanse En Paz y Que Nuestro Señor te tengas en La Gloria.
