Postby cherry » Sun Apr 06, 2008 1:06 pm

Just to say hi and to introduce myself

I'm new to this forum, just discovered thanks to the Italian version.

Hope to find friends all over the globe and share common enthusiasm for this magic world of percussions. :D

Welcome!
I just had a dream last night where I was in a restaurant escaping a mob hit on a group I was with, then I went to a table where they had tiny drums.. So I played one of them one handed like a pandeiro..

Enjoy!

Another warm welcome Cherry

Use the "search" feature and search for "pandeiro"

You will find lots of interesting discussion and information about pandeiros.

I consider the pandeiro to be an ideal percussion instrument: small, lightweight, very portable, with a distinct voice, and wide range of expression, capable of very sophisticated rhythms.
You could spend a lifetime studying. playing and enjoying it....and easily take it everywhere you go!

There are folks here with much greater knowledge and experience than I.
Seek and you shall find.........

From another absolute pandeiro beginner.

Welcome Anita -

- from Hamburg, Germany.

So you deliberately picked exactly the instrument that killed me a dozen times before I decided not to tell anyone that I own one anymore ... Good luck!
Anyway, I have seen enough Brazilians unchaining all the beauty that is locked up inside the pandeiro.

welcome anita, benvenuta.
yes thomas, i did hide my pandeiro away as well but mostly because it would vibrate too much to whatever other instrument would be played in my studio.
it is definitely a fascinating instrument, if very hard to master.
peace & blessings

Dave, Marco, Joseph, Johnny, Traumtyp, Thomas, Zumby: THANK YOU!!!! :D

Dave, strange but beautiful dream, I'd like to be so much into the instrument to dream it...
Marco that's true :D which part of the UK?
Joseph, absolutely! I didn't realize all the pros you mention.. thank you also for the details about searching
Johnny: done!
Traumtyp, thanks!
Thomas: yes, deliberately :D Guess you play another instrument in such a way that any other seems less "proficient" :) I would not take this risk  As to Brazilians, fortunately or unfortunately... 8)
Zumbi, poor pandeiro... so alive that it can't stop itself... peace and blessing to all of you too

LOL
