Filosofía Caribeña has been a work-in-progress for a year and a half.
It is a very special project and a huge milestone in my/our careers not
only because of the caliber of the collaborators, but particularly because
this project was made possible by the extraordinary financial support of
dozens of enthusiastic individual donors, along with generous support
from the East Bay Community Foundation, the National Association of
Latino Arts and Culture, the Ford Foundation, and the Eastside Arts
Alliance and Cultural Center in my barrio San Antonio of East Oakland.
I am overwhelmed by this showing of love and encouragement for our work.
There is no way to express our humble gratitude and appreciation.

I also owe a great debt of thanks to all the collaborating artists who have
each given their heart and incredible talent to this project. As a result,
Filosofía has outgrown the limitations of a one-night concert or of a CD,
and will continue to evolve and form a major part of our repertoire forever.
Our next CD, Filosofía Caribeña Vol.1, will be officially released on May
1st, in honor of International Worker's Day.

Here are my esteemed colleagues who will be on stage for the Premiere:

Jerry Medina - vocals, trumpet
Kamau Daaood - spoken word
Rico Pabón - spoken word, coro
Sandra Garcia Rivera - vocals
Ramón Ramos Alayo - dancer, choreographer
Alain Amilcar Soto - dancer
Jamaica Itule Simmons - dancer
Idalmis Romero Valdez - dancer
Wayne Wallace - trombone
Dr. John Calloway - flute, piano
Melecio Magdaluyo - saxes, flute
Saul Sierra - bass
Marco Diaz - piano
David Flores - drums
John Santos - director, percussion, vocals

If you would like more info about Filosofía, I have a more detailed synopsis that
describes the inspiration and concept behind the name and the compositions.
Just hit me back . . .

Peace, justice, freedom, dignity, work, education, healthcare, decent housing,
quality food, and respect for EVERYONE!!! ONE LOVE . . . . .
1000 thanks . . . .

Looking forward . . .
