Postby tamboricua » Tue Apr 26, 2011 10:19 pm

Hi Congaplace,

Wanted to give you a heads up on an excellent documental currently showing every Tuesday night on PBS.

Tonight chapter will be a feature on Cuba. Check your local TV listings for showing time in your area.

Enjoy!!!

Not exactly about music, but can't help but touch on it.
There are 4 episodes to this series:
1) Haiti & the Dominican Republic: An Island Divided.
Viewable here
2) Cuba: The Next Revolution.
3) Brazil: A Racial Paradise?
4) Mexico & Peru: The Black Grandma in the Closet.

I imagine all 4 episodes, once they have been broadcast, will eventually be viewable at the PBS website.

A tough assignment to distill so much history into a 1 hour presentation.
Harvard professor Henry Louis Gates does a decent job of it.
