THIS DRUMSEEKER BONGO BAG, REPRESENTS TOP FLIGHT PROTECTION. IT'S A SUPERB BAG.

BUT, IF HARD IS WHAT ONE IS LOOKING FOR, ONE SHOULD LOOK AT CASES, RATHER THAN BAGS.

ABOUT MY MATTHEW SMITH BONGO, IT IS TRULY IS A WORK OF ART, AND I CHERISH IT. IT'S A TEN KEY CHERRY, IT IS HEAVIER THAN MY BLACK WALNUT SKIN ON SKIN BONGOS, BUT, IT'S A BIGGER MUCH MORE HEAVY DUTY SET.
SOUNDWISE, THEY ARE AWESOME. THEY HAVE A MORE SOLID TAPA SOUND ON THE HEMBRA, THAN DOES MY SKIN ON SKINS, AND THE MACHO HAS A CLEAN, TIGHT, AND BALANCED SOUND.

MY SKIN ON SKINS HOWEVER, ARE LIGHTER IN WEIGHT WITH THINNER HARDWARE, THEY ARE SUPER COMFORTABLE, AND A PLEASURE TO PLAY. THE MACHO IS THE STANDOUT, WHICH IS VERY ARTICULATE AND OPEN SOUNDING.

THOUGH THERE ARE NIGHT, AND DAY DIFFERENCES BETWEEN THE TWO, THEY ARE BOTH, SOME OF THE BEST OF THE BEST OUT THERE.

WHEN TOP LEVEL BONGOS ARE COMPARED, IT'S NOT SO MUCH THAT ONE IS BETTER IN SOUND THAN THE NEXT.
BUT, RATHER THAT, THE DIFFERENCES ARE SUBJECTIVE AT BEST.

Charlie the case looks fantastic. Charlie hit the nail on the head. I posted that I thought my SOS were better than my ritmo's but Charlie is right they were just different.

Saludos, I got 2 of those bags to keep my Bongos at Home but for the road I have and prefer a hard case. On the road you never know what could happen while giging so it is better to have the hard type. The hard type I got is dated from the last century 1988, has a separate inside compartment for the campanas. Back ago I use to take the Lp pro bag but it is hard to keep it upright and trying to grab the campana provides some degree of dificulty. The hard one is very steady and higher.

Well, I am very happy with Meinl´s professional bongo bag
which I bought second-hand at a good price.

The HR El Piernas bongó is heavy already, so the lightweight but still
sturdy, thick padded shell makes it comfortable to carry.

And the insertable plate comes in handy for campana etc. or as an extra
protection for the skins.

And it has a nice shoulder strap that is ergonomical.

But enough advertisement now

I guess Charlie´s HUMES AND BERG is just as good.
The contents is what counts after all

Humes & Berg makes some of the best-designed and quality-made instrument cases and bags one can buy. Personally, I take comfort in the fact that they're still made here in the U.S. That's why I chose them to house and protect my Gon Bops CA bongos, congas and timbales.

For my bongos, I was very fortunate to have been able to buy a Humes & Berg hard case (with interior foam padding) online for an incredible $54 only (brand new) a couple of years ago. I use the hard case for more heavy-duty transporting to and from gigs. For lighter gigs, I also have a Gon Bops bongos bag which I bought from a local dealer for $35. It has thick foam padding, especially on the sides, and it isn't too bad.

I used to have exactly the same Meinl bongo bag. You're right on all counts as far as its features are concerned. Neverthless, I returned it 'cause I'm a little picky (read: anal). I just didn't want to house my Gon Bops bongos inside a bag made by another drum manufacturer. The bag or case has to be made at least by a manufacturer that's neutral.

I know that this is out-of-topic, but I can't help but say "nice car" and "nice alloy wheels"! Even if the name badge isn't clear, I can tell that it's a Hyundai Sonata. I used to own a small used car dealership. That's why I can easily tell.

Man, those Korean cars have come a long way fast in terms of design alone--not to mention engineering and safety features. That's why I don't hesitate anymore to recommend them to others.
