Treating bearing edges

Postby casaet » Thu Jan 28, 2010 6:15 pm

I have just got a used Generation 2 bongo made in 93. It looks like new, but the bearing edges need some treatment. Nothing serious, just slightly uneven. I know that bearing edges must be treated carefully, and I wonder if I should let them be as they are, or do same careful sanding. Anyway they need some kind of treatment, and I think I have seen beeswax as a possibility. Oil or lacquer can be tricky, since I dont know what the original lacquer is. Good advice much needed.
