I HOPE SOMEONE HERE WILL PICK THEM UP. THEY ARE A SUPERB SET TO OWN!
I TOO OWN A SET. THEY WERE EBONY STAINED. BUT, I HAVE REFINISHED THEM TO SHOW THEIR NATURAL RED OAK, WITH A DANISH OIL TREATMENT FOR THE FINAL FINISH. THIS HAS BEEN MY ALL TIME FAVORITE SET FOR QUITE SOME TIME; AND NOW, THEY ARE SECOND ONLY TO MY SOS BLACK WALNUT BONGO.

THE CALIFORNIA SERIES BONGO, LIKE THE SOL BONGO OF OLD, HAS BEEN OVERLOOKED BY MANY THE UNFORTUNATE PLAYER.

TO ALL, THE GON BOPS CA SERIES BONGO, IS A MUST HAVE FOR ANY FINE COLLECTION TO COME FULL CIRCLE.

Yes I agreed with you, I own the other version Alex Acuña signature, light weight, very comfortable and excellent sound with the right skins,also excellent and elegant hardware, I got a thick skin on the Hembra and a fyberskin on the Macho . My set is the one I may take anywhere to play or rehearse. Don't know about the California series but the AA wood is very close to one inch in thickness.

WELL, WELL.

AT LEAST SOMEONE OUT THERE HAD THE SMARTS TO JUMP ON THAT PAIR OF MINT CONDITION, GON BOPS CA SERIES BONGOS. MCO, WAS PRACTICALLY GIVING THEM AWAY FOR JUST 219; WITH A WRENCH, AND PADDED lp BAG INCLUDED. I WANTED TO MAKE THEM MY SECOND PAIR. BUT, I CURRENTLY HAVE A COLLEGE STUDENT TO SUPPORT. SO I HAD RESIST.

I'M HAPPY THOUGH FOR THAT LUCKY BUYER.
