Will put Mr.Conga. These are truly the last days. The world is at it's worst in History and people need to look to Jesus. No one comes to the Father but by Jesus. No matter what else they may believe, this is truth from the Word of God.

Will.
p.s...if someone is struggling with life, pray tonight before going to sleep and ask Jesus to help. If your heart is sincere, he will answer your prayer because he died for you. No one else can say that.

God Bless

I play percussion in my church's worship band. The percussion instruments that I use also include bongos. But I don't use them frequently. I'm a percussionist who compliments the music with various percussion instruments. Only a couple songs can I think of do I take on a greater role than the drumset (one of these has a heavy role on congas). I usually play a supporting role. And half of the time I keep djembe as my primary supporting instrument. Then I branch out into other instruments as the music can make benefit.

Anyhow, there's a few songs that I do use bongos in, but it's only for certain sections of the songs. I do not play throughout. I think the four main techniques that I have used on the bongos are (and I'll do my best to try to describe):
1) one main type of bongo pattern, along with variations, in the intro section (and a revisited similar section) in one song
2) a fill on bongos that imitates a rolling tom fill on drumset
3) playing a modified djembe groove, replacing some of the djembe tones with tones played on bongo (in addition to what's left on djembe)
4) agogo pattern

Not necessarily anything you'd really need to see on video, nothing showy here. The music that I often encounter just doesn't seem to require more. I just try to play what's appropriate for the music, even though I can do much more.

There are a couple really good players in that band, but I would really love to be able to play with a worship group entirely made up of more skilled and creative musicians so I could do more. Oh, well. It's all in His service. I am able to cut loose more with a secular music project I am heavily involved in, so I'm not totally starving for opportunity. It just would be nice if there was more available in church worship, musically speaking.
