possibility of a congaplace meet\rumba?

Saludos mi gente,

The other day I was thinking of how great it would be if the members of congaplace could all get together and jam,talk music & history & share their percussion collection. I know that the members range in distance from north america to europe & maybe even further. But it would be great to maybe have a meeting on each coast?

The other day I found at King Conga (nice guy btw) is located in my old home town, and that Onile is in Arizona, which is a distance but not too far away, I'm sure it would be a great experience, tremenda rumba que seria...


Anyone agree or have any comments, they are welcomed...

Yeah! Brother King Conga e' buena persona, I had a great time when he visited a few years ago. As for getting some of us together in the same place, that would be a feat for sure, however with distance, gas, accommodations..... I don't know if some would find it feasible. I would love to get together with some great, talented players as well, but life seems to get in the way, gigs, family, household chores etc.

Keep trying though, I'm sure that you'll link up with several other cats that live within driving distance.....cook up some food, barbeque, carnitas, pernil, arroz, or whatever is convenient and let it roll Papa!

Tony my brotha, my invite for you will always stand, (as well as anyother congaplace members.), if ur ever heading towards LA or SoCal pay us a visit, on one condition tho,bring your congas!...lol... we'll have pupusas,yucca con chicharron,etc....and not to brag but my Mofongo isn't too shabby..hehe..

Is a good thing people is talking about the possibility of a congaplace rumba. I actually had the same idea a couple of months ago and I talked to ABAKUA about it but I did not say anything at the moment just because my wife was about to give birth and I knew I was going to be very busy. and right now I am very busy indeed with a 6 weeks old but I am open to it. It does not have to be expensive we just need somebody that organize something in different places for example I am in Maryland if I get a place or even here at my house the people that is close by can get here and everybody bring something to eat and drink and that's about it i guess.
