Yes I know they have some heft to their weight but a very solid constructed instrument nonetheless. Could be possibly handed down to the next generation when it's time & appropriate to do so. I've sent you the number via your private message on this forum. You should be able to contact her or leave a message for her. Peace.

Saludos, here is my old Moperc with skindeep molten sea graphic head. All my giging Bongos are switch from natural skin to Remo on the Macho, they are very reliable, resist a very high tension, last a long time & all the other good stuff about them.

Caballo, Very nice sets. I'm very impressed on how well they fit and look on all 3 sets you have on display. Enjoy them to the fullest. When I gather some funds I will obtain the same type of heads in the same "tucked" style and all 3 model number Remo heads. I have the crimped versions of the black and natural calfskin synthetics. "La Gente pide para bailar, Tumba y Bongo". Peace brother.

Jorge.

I always carry a spare remo in my bag but not ready to give up on goat skins yet. I like tuning & detuning - my meditation.

But I sure like the look of the new hardware on the LP. Who made that? I want!

Saludos, thanks all for the positive comments. Yes I will detune and tune like it was aregular natural skin. I do not believe on keeping unnecesary tension on the shells.

Caballo,I received my Remo skyndeep, and you are right the sound and feel of it are great!!!and I would not have known if you did not post it..so thanks again for sharing.I bought the tucked version which did fit an old Meinl, but did not fit my El Piernas...I wonder if the regular untucked would fit? Did u try a skyndeep on an El Piernas,by any chance? If not I'll post the subject,I am sure somebody here must have done that...Good drumming and health.J6.

johnny, yes, but was a tucket Nuskin which is another brand from remo. Also I remember trying to put the regular crimplock fyberskin on the Moperc and did not fit so your best bet is to take your Bongó to the store and see if it fit as Maelo commented on your previous post.

Johnny, usually the Lp & Matador custom are use for rehearsal & on clubs where at any time during breakes somebody could come to the stage and beat on them. Once a long time ago while playing at the Humming Bird club and using the old El Piernas a lady ask to play and dropped the Bongó so that is the reason to use those 2 on that type of place. The other ones 3A,Moperc & Timbas Del Valle are use to play at Hotels,Weddings & other special ocasions. I still waiting the arrival of a new El Piernas built and dress to my specs which should get down here hopefully sometimes at the end of this months.

All them are made of different woods and have their unique old school sound. Wow!!!! since I can remember I had have over 15 different Bongos since 2005. This is an illness that does not have a cure
