Mallets and Bongo

Postby torpedo tom » Tue Feb 05, 2013 3:48 pm

I've started seeing more videos showing people using mallets of some type on the bongo. Is this something new or have I missed something along the line? Also, arthritis in my left thumb has all but stopped my learning the bongo. It is very painful doing the martillo. Thanks, TT

Here you go a little demonstration of stick on bongo from 1956 (Puente In Percussion).

Wooden knitting needles can cut down length to use as bongo/timbalito mallets.
The black one was made by Pan Con Queso

Manito percussion offers a bongo/timbalito mallet too that looks very nice
