Charangaman,

Where you at, we were all were. (Unless, the person was a virtuoso from the start and there aren't that many).

You have to push yourself without sacrificing technique. Remember to drumming there is the physical and the sychological side to it. You will hit "walls" that think you cannot pass and that will give you desire of of giving up. The most important thing is knowing your limitations and trying to overcome it correctly and with patience without getting desperate about. Those who overcome them and keep on working at it, again without sacrifying technique, are those that make it. What do you think keeps up the percussionists that keep on excelling and that are examples to us? Practice and going right about it.

Eventually you will get it and laugh about it like I did.

hope all is well. about ''cheat'' please explain what you meant by''missing some of the double eighth notes in the macho and just doing it in eight notes''?? mucho áche and felicidades, mi bro!!! franc :cool:

Franc,

My music notation is not that good but what you are actually doing is in the 1 of the bar intead of playing double eighth, you play a quarter note in 1 and then you go double eighth note. If you notice the bongo "feel" is like congas...all double eigth notes. (I think that's how it goes...)

my best! now i understand. yes on 2/4. for ex. in ''paso doble'' or ''seis chorreao'' on the first beat is 2 eigth note, on the second beat with 4 sixteen notes. great!!! i figured it out like this 1 y 2 y 1 y 2 y

4 eigth note. in here is where you are allow to sheat while in time. i guess i figured it out. if not i welcome
