Very, they are a super limited set made with poplar shells, a collaboration with another drum maker that didn't work out for Cali after these and another few sets were put together, great projection, I've almost parted with them a couple of times when I've been broke but luckily they have managed to stay with me.

I can vouch for these poplar bongos of Barrie's - just a really great set of bongos, and much lighter in weight than other JCR bongos I've played, such as those of his in solid one-piece mahogany.

Well, I have finally finished my Solid Shell Dominican Bongos and I think that they turned out
as good as they can be. I am very happy with them and I will have to keep them since so much
went into them. I had to narrow the middle block a little to get the shells a little closer to each
other. I did not want them too close so I think the distance is good now.

I believe that I have the best of all three worlds.
1. Super solid one piece Dominican Mahogany shells.
2. Heavy duty hardware from Mathhew Smith.
3. Topped off with beautiful mule skins from El Greco of Greece.

What else can I say? They sound incredible. I have ordered more skins from El Greco for
another set of Bongos and some Conga skins as well.

I had time to do a small Guiro project in the meantime. Hope you like it.

Senor Brisa, now that a couple of months have passed how are those babies sounding? I decided to send my set to Caly for a little TLC. I'll post pictures when I get it back.

I agree those bongos, look awesome, and Thebreeze, looks to be very happy with the sound too.
Every skin i have seen from El Greco, has been a good skin, it looks to be top quality, I really like the on that Dominican hembra,nice and thick...

Those guiros are beautiful, i love the way that darker one came out, its spectacular.

Will is a very good craftsman, from just doing a repair, skinning a drum ( i have played drums he skins, and he is great, almost perfect to his work), or making his own instruments , i have told him he should consider making instruments on his spare time, he truly takes his time, and put love into the instrument, that become a blessing into whoever plays his percussions.

I was blessed to acquire two sets of costume claves, done in exotic woods by him, and they are beautiful...the wood is sooo nice on them.
I use them when i practice by myself, they mean a lot to me, i will cherish the love and work Will puts into the instruments, that have become a blessing for me to have.

I welcomed the TS in the forum and I was willing to give him
the benefit of the doubt but now his latest post look a lot
to me like spamming. I know they ran TS off the Ask the Pro
on Facebook for similar tacticts. People get tired of looking
at the same (2) bongos and the outrageous and less than
genuine claims that come with his post.

By the way, ts, if you can still read what I wrote I mentioned MY personal experience with MDF cases, JCR, and the availabilty of these type cases although not in the style of the boxes you boast about but MDF bongo cases found with major music equipment companies. Not one word was mentioned about you, no need read the quote above. Reading is fundamental, learn the elements of grasping what is being conveyed here.
