Those SOS were made in 1992. Yes, I traded them and 3 Gon Bops batas some years back for my original Junior Tirado congas. The Juniors I had sold to a guy in San Francisco, at the time I had over 10 Juniors, but I couldn't get over letting them go. Junior had made that set for me in 1999. So I got them back, had to sacrife my best bongo' at the time and a complete set of batas. Photo of the Juniors I recovered.

PS. Before the oak SOS on the photos I had a set made out of black walnut by Jay. The walnut wood have been some left over from a set of batas he had made for Milton Cardona of Gene Golden, I forget who of the two. I sold the walnut set to someone in this forum, I forget who. They were also incredible. I found a photo.

The Cuban ones you're getting sound as good or better than those SOS. These Cubans might not be as appealing to the eye as the SOS ( had an artist make the black and red lines), but when it comes to sound projection, estos Cubiches tienen un sonido de pin..! I have to get back to you with shipping info. I have been real busy at work. I'll email you in a couple of days.
