Natal bongo s ?????????????

Has anybody any experience with Natal bongo s ? (Fiberglass)

They are considered good instruments and well made with good hardware. The older ones were made in Kentish Town London, very local to me so there were a lot of them around to play as well as congas (which I had for a few years) They came with good skins and I dont recall playing any bad ones.
In the last few years manufacture has moved out of London using possibly more mass produced methods, maybe someone else can comment.

If you have been offered one, you wont go far wrong with Natal, do you have a picture?

Howe strong are these old aluminum comfy rims ?

Ive broken one of the bottom rims .
But i think that was due to a casting falt . Both of the broken surfaces had a little smoot spot on them .

But i dont trust aluminum hardware no more !!

I am using thicker skins these day s . Would this bongo cope with them ?
