ZEBRA AND OTHER SPECIES FROM MY STABLE

I was reading the post on "not a real zebra bongo' " and I happened to have my LP zebra next to me while I was reading the post. My zebra is circa 67/68, as you can see, the center piece has the two wood strips and the bottoms are original LP Cuban style bottoms, is a very rare zebra. Next to the zebra is Mariano Bobadilla's original bongo' , a very early Gon Bops early 1950's, I got it from Cuco (Leedy2).
Next photo is my Junior Tirado and and early JCR that belonged to Juancho. Last photo is Mongo/Willie Bobo's 1954 Gonzalo Vergara with a chequere that I bought from Patato. Aside from Mongo's Vergara, I might decide the sell one of the others. Last photo Manteca's (Lazaro Pla) Vergara's refinished and hardware retofited by Matt Smith.

Saludos,

Dario

Thanks Dario.....On that Mathew Smith Vergara....Was the wood left rough inside from the carving or was that smoothed out when it was refinished. I know you said in another post that your Dandy Vergara was left rough inside. Do you have any more pics of the Mathew Smith Vergara?

The wood on that was refinished by Jay Bereck, the inside is really smooth. Initially the hardware was done by Jay as well but in black oxide. Matt did the hardware a few years ago and did a superb job.
