My new Armando Peraza cherry bongo

Postby Psych1 » Fri Aug 26, 2011 3:25 pm

Just bought this one -

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi ... AQ:US:1123.

I won't see it until November. I'll be in the US then and pick it up.

About 5 years ago I saw one of these in a small music shop. I picked it up and played it for about 5 minutes. I loved the sound, the feel, and the look of it. It was $127. But, I hadn't caught the collector bug and already had 3 bongos that I liked and played. So I put it down and walked out of the shop. About a 1/2 hour later I got a rush that said "You really better go get that bongo." So I went back to the shop and it was already gone! I've been waiting for another one to come around ever since and finally got one.

Don't know if I'll feel the same way about this one but I think I will. I like the look of cherry wood, love the Valje bongo, and Armando is one of my heros. Update - end of November.

What an incredibly low price!

And also the price you paid for today´s ebay auction is cool,
a real bargain for such a nice bongó.

Oh man, yeah, collector´s bug - my wife cured me partly

Which does not mean I do not possess any decent bongó  8)

But the cherry Valje of yours is definitely a player I´d say!
Peace & drum
