Solid wood LP's, dude sent me a bunch of close-ups, definitely solid, no staves. Got sniped on them at the last minute last night, guess it wasn't meant to be!

Man, I wish I knew he was a forum member! He sent tons of pics directly to me, definitely soild shell, not stave, I've never seen any like them before. PC
I bought them. I never heard of a carved solid-shell LP bongo either. I'll have to see them to believe it. Some may have been a steam curved plank with a single glue line.
I didn't ask for any pics and may not get to see them for a while. Post yours so we all can see them and comment.
What goes around comes around. I don't always keep stuff I pick up and you can't take it with you. Someday these bongos will go to someone else. I'll bring them here first.
Wow solid shell LP PP's, that's something now. Looking at some of them vintage LP bongos I can tell LP back in the day was working with some exotic and very interesting hardwoods. Congratulations!
I've been asking around - had some email exchange with Martin Cohen, and others. There were a few experiments but LP really didn't make solid shell wooden bongos commercially. What they did make, in the early 70's, were some bongos out of a foam that looks like wood. I'm now pretty sure that is what these are. Foam bongos! Will know for sure when I see them.
