I need to purchase a good quality comfortable drummer's throne not to exceed a $200 price range give or take $10. Any durable good choices to choose from? Thanks for the tips.

Jorge.

I think throne preference is a personal thing. You got to try it and see
how it feels and fit your butt. I owned a throne and seldom times use it
most of the time I pull a chair or something.

$200 is way too much for a "throne", thrones are more for drummers IMO, a good bongocero just needs a quality seat, I got one for like $45-50 off of musiciansfriend, anyways a bongocero doesn't spend all of his time sitting down, most stand up to play the campana...

Yea that's pretty much what you need, something to sit on & get the job done, I believe mine is from a company named "sound percussion" .. I've even used chairs at a couple of gigs like u mentioned earlier..

Saludos, A throne is the way to go. Sometimes a chair is too low thus affecting your performance, also a throne is more profesional and you came move side to side while playing . I have and old one made by Lp, at least has a sticker with that logo unless somebody put it on. A cheap one does not have enough cushion and really hurt after playing for long plus may not hold if you are too fat  . Beware  thrones need to be decontaminated from time to time because they become infected with ASS perfume  . Here is a photo of my.

Musician friend have one made by Sound Percussion, Embroidered Drum Throne and is only $89.00 with excellent reviews.

Here is a solid throne, portable and cheap plus it can be used as a weapon
(amanza guapo)as shown many times in profesional wrestling in case things
get ugly at the gig. None Better!

Gracias a RitmoBoriqua, bOngO, and especially that last hilarious thread by Caballo! I couldn't stop laughing after reading that one! I'll search around and try to get the best seat that would be durable enough for me. I think a regular chair wouldn't do it for me because I'm short in stature and feel uncomfortable seated so high up. Thank you all for your views. Peace and Happy New Year.

Jorge.
