Today I met with Adolpho and Natividad Rocha and part of their family. Extremely nice people and they brought with them some equipment I had ordered. I must say I'm quite pleased with the craftsmanship Hector Rocha produces. Heavy duty hardware, beautifully grained hardwood Clave & bongo shells and a very Dry Natural Rawhide set of Maracas with a nice med. low toned chrome bell & carrying case to boot. The heads were freshly mounted yesterday because Adolpho had arrived back from Colombia just recently. One of the heads doesn't have the company logo because the moisture still present from the head mounting would blur the inked company logo but he will adhere it when he returns with an extra macho head I had asked him sell to me upon my next purchase. The drums have a bit of heft to them but I can only imagine how they will sound when the heads are fully dried and I can tune them up to play. The wood is Palo Santo. Even though I waited some time for these the wait was well worth it. Of those of you who have an interest in purchasing any percussion product from them they have a website which is elpiernashr.com. They also have a contact telephone number at the website as well for ordering. Peace,
Jorge
