interesting bongos

Postby Psych1 » Fri Mar 30, 2012 11:58 pm

Surfing Ebay and saw these. Never saw them before. Ad says solid-shell. Must be light - easy to hold. Goat skins. Tricky tuning - probably can't really crank up the macho. Any guesses as to the type of wood?

The sound is terrible. I could not see why anybody would want this type of bongo. they might sound better if the skins were heat tunned but then again I dont think that the tuning would hold very long.

OK. I'm sure you are right. I don't want them & am not pushing them. Just thought they were interesting.

Why should the principle be bad? A djembe - for instance - is tuned rather high-pitched and keeps this tuning passably.

This is an advantage over usual lugs.

:?: The tuning seems to be difficult because of the connection chunk. I donĀ“t see additional cord.
