Slow Songs and Stands

Postby torpedo tom » Tue Nov 20, 2012 12:51 pm

A couple of questions from a newbie. First, is there a rythym for slow songs other than just slowing the Martillo down? Something like the Bolero on conga? Also, does anyone use bongo stands, seated or standing or is this a sign of a true non-bongocero? Thanks, TT

Martillo is standard, if there's a break you can ad effect's like chime's e.t.c. I like the pearl stand with the bar across for a sturdy set up as for me holding the bongo's sometimes put's to much pressure on my bad knee's. One thing about the Pearl stand that i add was a utility belt to put the bongo bell in so that it was easier to reach. I strapped it with a a bungee cord on the bongo stand.
