Valje Bongó

There is a 1970s Valje Bongó on ebay for $925  . I wonder what the seller is smoking. Looking in more detail, the skins are in critical condition so there is more cash to invest for proper sounding.

While those prices seem crazy to us, there are many, non crazy - with money, out there willing to pay that. Actually, the $700 price for the Junior is a good price. Not because it sounds any better than my old $35 pawn shop Meinl but because it is a "collectible" and will most likely go up in value, and price. Tony said it best, "Wish the collectors would stick with watches and leave the instruments to the musicians."

Sometimes people are only paying for the sentimental value they have
for a particular item. Lot's of people from NYC have very strong
sentimental attachments to Junior Tirado's (RIP) drums plus obviously
they are been made no more.
