Remo bongos...?

Postby Ebongo » Sun Dec 08, 2013 6:02 pm

I am considering getting Remo bongos for a dedicated synthetic head set. Any opinions on Remo's valencia and their designer series bongos and congas?

Saludos, you need a truly wood Bongo for that purpose. Remos are made of some hybrid components so they aren't made of wood thus producing a plastic sound. You need a good mass produce Bongo? I could suggest the Dandy Rodriquez Lp model, not mass produce, the new El Piernas, both of them around $250. If money if not an impediment then buy Moperc.

Thanks for input. I am leaning towards the lp dandy for a dedicated synthetic head bongo. I am keeping my Moperc with only moperc skins.

Which websites show the Dandy and elPiernas for $250? I've only seen $279 for the Dandy.

Check the instrument for sale section. El Piernas are sold by Naty, her phone number is there.

In the meantime, for humid environments i will keep using my GonBops bongo cajon. Not as much projection as tunable bongos, but it sounds really nice.
