Saludos, just got this new beautiful

made Bongó by Jorge Miranda of Ponce P.R. Made of one piece solid mahogany( no staves) . Wood thickness is about 3/4" the Macho and 5/8" the hembra. Skins are Remo skindeep & thick cow,the hardware was taken from a Matador custom. Was easier for me to buy a new Matador ($130) and remove the hardware than to make one . If any one is interested I still have the Matador shells for sale. Should be using it tomorrow night at a gig with Conjunto Akangana.
Here is Jorge contact info in the case that anybody is interested on buying one. Remember, you need to provide the hardware.

Thanks everybody. Mr Conga, yes the wood is puertorican mahogany and both shells were made from the same log. About the price, Jorge is the one to answer that question.

Saludos, okay yesterday was test time for the Jm Bongó. I had a rehearsal with Conjunto Akangana which consists of 10 musicians Salsa band so was the perfect time to hear his sound mixed with the other instruments in the band. The Jm has a big mellow sound projecting out of the hembra and a high pitch of the macho. Volume was outstanding and also very defined sound during martillo. Overall the Jm performed beautifully with a powerful sound out of those mahogany shells. Next is giging time.
