sol mahogany oer walnut

Getting ready to drop some $$$ on a set of sol bongos. Walnut or mahogany and why? My experience with LP's was that I liked the old PP walnuts better, tighter drier macho.

Pcastag, it is your decision, however once I was interested on one of their Bongos but they are made to use synthetic heads . A thick skin can not be fit on the Hembra. That turned me off from buying but like I said it's your call. Also their bongos have that sharp type of bearing edge which is kind of uncomfortable to the hand. If money is not an issue check Manito percussion he can make bongos to your specifications although a little pricey but been one piece solid wood they are unique.

Right now money is not an issue, I'm actually looking for a set of bongos for synthetic skins. The sols are very well put together, but yes very dry , haven't played on them so don't know about the bearing edges.
