Saludos, here is another Bongó made by Jorge Miranda. As always no staves just solid wood. Don't know from which wood he made it and also don't know the owner of this beauty.

A piece of art, a real beauty! The wood looks very interesting.
The hembra is mounted a bit too high for my liking though.

Hola Mike, yes the Hembra is too high but the reason is for the owner to tune it and lower the skin to his like instead of mounting too low and there will be no turn back. If it is dry a wet tower on top for a little time and then tune to around 5/16" low from the bearing edge and listo.
