Ive owned several sets of Sonoc Bongo Love their tone. Here is a set not more than 10 years old made of Caoba and Cedro. I changed the lugs to a stronger smoother reacting lug, changed the Macho head to a thinner hide which pops. I love old drums, like guitarist like old guitars there seems to be a magical transformation and a memory in the wood which improves with age. I and many others hear the difference some refer to it as MOJO. New drums do not float my boat, I play in many different bands and have for many years, since I was taught to take care of my instrument they have never let me down. Here is a photo of my SONOC bongo ORIGINAL center block. Enjoy your drums.

Love the finish on your Bongo Doc. Beautiful piece. I'm sure you truly enjoy playing that bad boy. I can tell by the pic that you also take care of your instraments. That bongo will surely outlast us both.
