OLD LP PALISADES???CAN SOMEBODY AUTHENTICATE IT?

Postby JOHNNY6 » Sun Jul 12, 2015 8:42 pm

Hi group,
What is this bongo exactly? The seller is saying Palisades, and some of the hardware does not say LP,he is saying, that it is all original, that LP was not showing on all the hardware at the time? Is that one of the good LP,in terms of sound, and what wood is it? Thanks.

One of the good ones. 70's mahogany. LP stamped all the rims, not always the lugs. Not "original" , but "improved." The center block may have been shaved a little, the "super nuts" came later and the hembra skin looks like a better skin than the bongo came with. My favorite bongo - if the price is right buy it. Any cracks are very easy to fix on this one.

$200 seems like a good fair price. It is a great bongo but a lot of them were made, most still around, and the prices never took off. Get it, you could always get your money back if you don't like it.

Thx P1,I also felt that was a fair price for it,but was not sure ,since I normally don't buy vintage stuff. The good thing about this one is that I can try it locally before I decide to buy it,so I'll do just that.Have a good 1.J6.
