Oye Caballon !
How about a photo of your new "El Piernas". I got a new El Piernas a couple of years ago and I ended up giving it to my son in law, who wanted to learn " el martilleo". It could not compare to my old one, that you now have. Post picture and give me a comparison between the old and new.
REPARTE SOBROSO ! Dario

Vaya tu que bolá, I have been trying to post a photo but have no clue on how to. I tried the instructions given by Tonio but could not do it.
This SOB Piernas Bongó weights 13 pounds made of Guayacan no problem for me I have long legs, the macho begs to be crankup ,the hembra after a thick cow hide installation and some adhesive is sounding excellent but still in her period of breaking. Is exactly like the 1 twinsbongo has but without the metal bands.
Overall comparison between the old and new,the crowns are thinner 1/4 the old & 3/16 the new 1 , wood is different (1/2 " thick old & 5/8" thick new 1) so in this case the hembra sound will vary a little (you know I am a sound maniatic, the hembra has to have a particular sound or else) but is about the same. Every lug ,crown & bottom hoop has the HR trade mark and are more refined than on the old one. They are well made and sound like a top of the line should.

Vaya Caballo,
They all look nice, but don't take offense, my old "El Piernas" looks the toughest" of all. Luce el mas encojonao de todos. Nice collection. I'm glad you're happy with the new Piernas, I wasn't with mine, I didn't like the wood or the tonality when compared to the one you got from me. Saludos, Dario

Dario, tranquilo. Yes the old Dog is tough but the Moperc with the new thick Cow skin sounds as good. They all have their particular sound & they all go out to dance, every gig I take a different 1 to play.
Julito from Texas discover a web page from Colombia with some nice looking Bongos I'll try to post the web address later . Also there is a Colombian Percussion set in e-bay,it is a 1 piece solid wood made of guayacan but they look to me like the 3A model sold down here by Pure Sound, the problem with 3A is that the shells are to thin thus been more suitable to crack or to get the egg shape .

Bros, keep in mind that Guayacan is a very heavy wood.
I have heard that the Guayacan congas are heavier than the Gio Palladiums, uuuffff. just makes me sweat thinking about it. Not always do i count on roadies.
And yes I also want to check out the Colombian percussion products, have heard good things about their campanas also.
They are in Cali , Colombia.

Hola Mike, Julio,Omelenko & Olsongo are talking about the weight on the Bongos posted by Julio. Also Omelenko is going to buy another Vintage El Piernas I offered to exchange my El Piernas for 2 of the ones he have. What do you think ? Is your vintage LP heavy ?
