Forum fully dedicated to the instrument

The threaded bolt has been stripped twice becuase of the tension applied on the wing nut to tighten the strap.
Very frustrating. Anybody have the same or similar problem and/or solutions?

Yep, it is. CUSTOMER SERVICE NEWSFLASH! A brief email to LP custromer service describing my problem was answered immediately by Bob Larko who said they would ship a new stirrup and tensioning bolt out to me right away. And I've had my stand for almost a year!!!. Outstanding service!!

Bob Larko has also been helpful to me when I need part numbers on small replacement parts (haven't needed the parts, but I like to keep spares on hand just in case I have a problem at a crucial time like a gig or session).

I believe my LP bongo stands are the 330-series, not the Aspire's. Though I can't imagine there being any real difference in quality between the two on that screw. I have never yet had a problem with any of my stands (have three, two upright and one seated model). Just how tight are you trying to make that strap???

Not really torquing it. Just enough to hold the bongos steady as I play them in combo with my 3 drum setup. I have them set in front of my quinto. Guess I'll have to back off a bit on that wing nut.

My LP stands don't use the wing-nut. The long screw threads into the strap bracket. I wonder if perhaps your Aspire stand is made a little cheaper??? Hard to imagine, but who knows. I've been using one of my stands regularly for 5 years and I get the strap fairly tight.
