Saludos, in the works is a custom Bongó by Lou Vega 7.25 X 8.75 cylindrical shape
.Stainless steel Hardware and skins are next. It is called The New Yorker pin stripes and made of black Walnut and maple.

I moved away 30 years ago but I'm really a New Yorker. Maybe I need one too?

I just saw these, very nice!
I had toyed with the same idea for making a second pair of bongos a while back.
My inspiration was the pattern and colors of the coat of the actual Animal that's known as a Bongo, a kind of Antelope I believe.
I wonder if that was his inspiration as well? Those bearing edges look similar to those on my Bongos.
The pair in the back look to have a slight conicle shape...Would be nice to see them complete with skins.

Saludos, finally the Vega Bongó is on his way as it was sent today via Usps. Should be here Monday.
