I have 3 old LP fiberglass drums, 2 are are at 29" and one is at 28". They are different models obviously, the 28" is wider at the bottom.
These drums are close enough in height where I don't experience any problems when playing all three. I usually use the short one as the tumba.
I have a set of Resolution drums coming next week (from Ralph Flores sone of Tom Flores, creator of Valje), they are at 30". Valje's were originally 31".
Myself I like the shorter drums, but I am short at 5'6". Similarly I am not a fan of the new style bongos with the 9" hembras, kind of wide for me to hold with my legs.
