Genuine Gon Bops (re)quinto ?

Hi everybody.

I'm a newcomer in this forum, and I start wit my title question.

I bought this drum to a friend of mine some 20 years ago, and he assured me at the time it was a 20 years old Gon Bop drum, though there's no brand sticker/plate on it, so the baby must be at least 40. It surely looks like a Gon Bop drum, and sounds very good too.

Oops !
I submitted my post before I finished it.
I decided this summer to refurbish this drum, so I sanded it with elbow grease, patience and love, and put 3 coats of Tung oil on it.
IMHO, it looks like the old California series, and it's diameter is 9,5 inches, so I think it would rather be called a requinto.
Here's a picture after the oiling - it still needs to be polished. And the picture quality is not so good, it looks much better "in the real life".
What do you think ?
