Very nice! What's Chinito? A company? a person? or a cool way to say "fine set of" bata.

Chinito is the name for the group of rumberos from the Corea section of Havana (I believe Corea is in La Habana or on the outskirts, can anyone confirm?) In any case a student of Los Chinitos is helping them make some bata w/ rope and w/ hardware and selling them between $800-$1000 a set. They look pretty nice and are a solid piece of cedar. Los Chinitos are credited with having "invented" the guarapachanguero rhythm. In Cuba there are a couple of famous names or Rumba Groups or families...Los Aspirinas, Los Chinitos, Los Villamil, etc....I have found it funny that the name is "Los Chinitos De Corea"...which in English translates to "The Chinese from Korea".

Ralph, yeah in Cuba all asians or even white and blacks that have slanted eyes is refered to as chino or china. I saw a video of Pio Leyva or Mayito in Japan calling a Japanese girl "china" I was bugging since there is some type or rivalry between Japanese and Chinese people but they din't take it the wrong way I guess.
