i know that the low timbale goes on the left but i like it on the right because i feel more comfertable with my independence. i play congas with the low one on the right aswell.
is there anything wrong with me. ???

Hi Xela.. If you were in a latin band i would say low drum to your left. But you are approaching them as a drummer and not a timbalero. Nothing is wrong with that. In this manner you may also develop a style of your own. But like I said if it was a Latin music situation it would be low drum on left. Hey Bro! greetings from Toronto. my understanding is that the low timbale being placed on the left is the a French influence. The jembe was modified way back when to produce the
timpani shape. the Cubans modified the timpani to produce the timbales. They simply kept
the French style of the timpani, with the lowest drum on the left.
