REPLACEMENT PARTS FOR 40 YEAR OLD LP'S - RUSTY HARDWARE...

Forum fully dedicated to the instrument

MY FATHER HAS A SET LP TIMBALES THAT HE BOUGHT IN 1967 OR SO. THEY ARE THE TITO PUENTE PROFFESIONAL MODEL. I'D LOVE TO REPLACE THE STAND & HARDWARE FOR HIM. ANYONE KNOW WHERE TO GET PARTS FOR THESE? ALSO, ARE CONSIDERED VINTAGE OR CLASSIC?

THANKS
LUIS

If you have them...don't let go. Yes, they are classic if they are the ones with the "green badge" and made in New Jersey.

Contact LP's customer service. They should help you.

Thanks for responding Raymond. Estan con el viejo en Toa Alta & will be given to me when he passes. I've called LP customer service & got no response. I'll try again soon. The badge does say made in New Jersey but, I'm not sure if it's green...I find out though.

Muchas Gracias Papa

If not help from LP in the US, try Tropical Music in Puerto Rico. They are the distributor and representative of LP in Puerto Rico. They have a store in San Juan (Cantera) and a new one that just open in Calaf Street in Hato Rey. (Is called the Music Store). (They guys are helpful there...But there are parts for them).

Saludos!

HELLO CHAPO,
I HIGHLY RECOMMEND JUST ORDERING A NEW LP TIMBALES STAND, AND HARDWARE. I TOO HAVE AN OLDER SET OF TITO PUENTES, THAT I HAVE BOUGHT ON EBAY. THEY DID NOT HAVE A STAND SO I ORDERED ONE IT RAN ME ABOUT $109.00 BUT WORTH IT. THE OTHER HARD WHERE CAN BE ORDERED AS WELL.
JUST GO THROUGH THE ONLINE MUSIC STORES. AND YOU CAN EVEN GET THEIR TELEPHONE NUMBERED AND SPEAK TO THEIR CUSTOMER SERVICE REP.
MY TIMBALES ARE NOW SWEET!
GOOD LUCK BRO.
