I´ve recently read the suggestion to tune the Timbales in a star-like criss-coss fashion (like many trap drummers do with their toms). So far I have tuned my timbales only clockwise. I´m still a newbie there.
Which one is correct or better?
Any advice or shared experience is greatly appreciated.

It would depend how many logs there are in the Timbales,if it is even numers, you could do cross tuning, but if it is odd/numbers, there is not cross tuning..Until you are familiar with the tuning by ears, you might have to look the tread in the lugs,(that all of them have the same distance from the tuning ring.Dr. Zaragemca

OK, with 6 lugs on each drum I´ll do the cross-tuning method.
Thanks.

Hi
I always tune and untune my drums clockwise. It helps keeping the rims aligned.. I remember Gio giving this advise too...
