Leedy first where do I mention in my post that I use the instruments as sound effects ? second in your post you tend to generalize, I personally stay away from persons who do that . Also not all young players and instructors of today are bad, you seem to look for the negatives. And as long as I know, musicians have been told to practice with a metronome...I wonder why ? to help with their timing. So to practice your tempo with a metronome within the context of the music is VERY IMPORTANT.

HELLO TO ALL HERE ON CONGABOARD.
TRUST ME WHEN I SAY, THAT VINNIE IS DOING EXCEPTIONALLY WELL, WITH RESPECT TOWARD TIMING AND OTHERWISE. HE IS NOT AN AVERAGE EVERY DAY STUDENT, THIS IS ALL PART OF WHO, AND WHAT, HE IS. HE IS DOING AWESOME, AND SHOULD CONTINUE TO DO SO. LEARNING OTHER INSTRUMENTS WILL NOT HURT HIM IN ANY WAY. I DO AGREE WITH OLSONGO.

HAVE A GREAT DAY TO ALL.
