I just put coated remo ambassadors on my brass leedys, sounds very nice. I'm currious if anyone has tried the aquarian modern vintage heads on timbales, they are supposed to replicate the vintage calf skin sound, might be a good one to try.

willie55 it appears as though you are hosting a percussion clinic am I correct? it looks like evry one is having a great time. Are those your timbas? the red one? It would be awesome if you can post a picture of them and of your gong bop on the picture thread, what do you think?

Yes, like Leedy2 says, Those are definitely
Slingerlands. I passed a set of these with calf heads to a friend in Puerto Rico,
and still have the similar set in chrome, still with the Leedy style rim
and claws, but I use the coated ambassador heads.

Thanks Cuco, for helping in their proper description.
I saw Louie's ebay - someone's getting a great vintage set.

I may sell my Chromed Steel Slingerlands of the same Leedy like model
as the Brass set.

Cuco ..Thanks!

I put a magnet to my steel bells and it stuck....but did not stick to
the Slingerland Chrome Timbales!

So I guess that means they're indeed brass underneath.
A little deeper cascara
than modern steel timbales. I may add some more reinforcement
inside the shells.

Thanks for all your help.
