Growing-up My Dad kind of school me on Noro Morales, Rafael Henandez, Pedro Flores, Cortijo,Ramito, Mon Rivera and His Dad, Trio Los Panchos, Machito, Rafael Munoz, Cesar Concepcion, Canario, Beny More, La Sonora Matancera, Miguelito and Vicentico Valdes,Tito Rodriguez etc. Then back 40 years ago they had this radio and T.V. shows in Puerto Rico that you learned about the pioneers plus the whole community school you on the pioneers as well. In a nutshell it was in the air. I remember folks playing them old 78’s RPM recordings. Today is way different to say the least.

I was looking at your Myspace the other day. Me dio escalofrio ver todos esos tambores. Every time I go to your "Myspace" and look and them photos of your drums and gear I get shocked but in a good way you know; it feels like drum heaven for sure at least for me.

I have the same problem installing regular heads on my Park Palisades Tito Puente model. I have to force it in...but Aquarian makes drumheads for this kind of oversized-drums its called Aquarian Vintage...kind of yellowish ,I saw it on Sam Ash...

Love them Joe Cotto tracks. Tasty bongo playing. Do you know if any of the Joe Cotto recordings have been re-issued on cd?
On Louie Ramirez track sounds like Rudy Calzado singing lead. Is that Candido Camero taking the solo on congas? I thought I
heard somebody say "Candido". Who is the trumpet player on that track, that's some serious blowing. Great Stuff.

Callo: Get yourself a hand held hair dryer( Better yet a heat gun) Run the dryer around the edge with the head on being careful not to melt the head. This should seat the head, avoid trying to tighten the head too tight to make it seat you will ruin the head. Also wax the edge of the shell so it can slip down more.
