Has anyone tried these? They are supposed to be LPs best. I am thinking of getting 13/14, 15/16 in brass and matador brass timbalitos.. I also wanna know if it is possible to put calf skins on those.. I would get the tito puente timbalitos but they come in weird sizes. I wanna make a set up simalar to Tito's with timbales, thunder tims and timbalitos, and I will make custom hardware for bells. ...so what do you think about prestige tims? Have you tried them??

Yes they are compatible with calf heads. I believe Earth Tone is currently the only manufacturer of new pre-mounted calf heads

Calf skin heads are also available from Stern Tanning. I also want to point out that the Matador timbalitos are brass plated steel. Not pure brass. It's a shame LP never made timbalitos in standard sizes.

I have the LP prestige timbales in steel and they do sound great. I also have 1970 gon bops mariano timbales in brass as a comparison and although they aren't as good as the gon bops, they are the best available at the present time.

I also own prestige (14/15) and old gon bops timbales (13/14)
cascara sounds good for those 2 models
but to play on the skin, i'd rather like LP
Gon Bops are not good for high tuning, not enough strong
