timbale ludwig brass

Hi, anyone know anything about these timbales? They have a ludwig sticker on the stand, they are brass. Any ideas? Cheers Toby

The best person to answer any question regarding these or any timbales is Faustino Cruz.
He is easy to find online and always helpful, and very honest in his assessment.

Toby,
The timbales were made by Gretsch most likely in the 60s. They appear to be in decent condition, but have some non original claws and could use a good cleaning. The stand was made in the 70s by ludwig and not original to this set. All of that aside, I bet they sound amazing due to the gauge and quality of brass that was used at the time.
