Serious hang time or freezing

Postby Chupacabra » Wed May 13, 2009 1:29 am

Hey folks,
Am I the only one who's been experiencing really slow performance on CongaPlace the past few days? It's taking forever to go from page to page - if it even changes at all. This is the only website that seems to be giving me the problem and I've tried it with another browser and still the same. Cookies are enabled only for sites I navigate to. Any feedback?

I've also had SQL error messages come up twice and there is a prompt to contact an administrator if the problem persists.

Yep, I agree, this site is exceptionally slow. Especially when you want to post a reply, but otherwise too. It is nothing new to me though, I have always put up with it, also with the SQL-errors.
Two reasons are possible: It can be a technical problem or the fact that there are far more net-surfing congueros out there than anyone could have ever imagined

Edit: Chupacabra, have you contacted the administrator yet?

No, not directly. I think this thread is where I would report something like this. It would probably be good for them to know if the problem is widespread or local to any geographical area to try to locate the problem. For all I know it could be my ISP, which wouldn't surprise me!

Yep. The site gets alot of traffic, not to mention the hits from the home page http://www.mycongaplace.com/indexeng.php

However, regarding to slowness etc, its average from time to time, but I get no errors or major hang time on this end... Strange, might in fact be your ISP?

I have noticed the site slow down over the last few weeks..

I have contacted the site owner/host in Italy to please look into web host speeds etc... Maybe it is the site?

Yep, it is definitely very slow indeed.

Lately I click on a topic and then do something else on another tab until it loads.

It's the same at my work, so it is not my ISP or laptop at home.

Funnilly enough, in the hours since having posted my previous reply, I have also experienced the error message:

General Error
SQL ERROR [ mysql4 ]

Too many connections [1040]

An sql error occurred while fetching this page. Please contact an administrator if this problem persists.

I have contacted myself since the problem persisted!

I emailed the site owner and host earlier today, waiting on his reply.... Seems to definately be a problem worldwide.

The same for me... it seems that the database is receiving too many connections to handle and you have to wait your turn...
I'm investigating to see if i can solve the problem.. sorry guys!! :(

Still an intermittent problem with long (> 1 minute) wait for new screen to come up when you click on something.

I am located in Germany and experienced the same problems. In addition, I received an e-mail informing about a new board mesage which obviously is a fake, as there seems to be no board member "profilicus"! Seems to me someone hacked the board?

Here's the e-mail I received:

I received the same spam mail and reported it to the administrator.
This fake member account has already been deleted by Abakua.

But anyway, the nasty slowness of the site here is really getting onto my nervezzz
