Okay, you know when you've got the plans all figured out for everyone's parts and instruments, but on the day of the gig, someone just comes into town and hasn't been playing with you in the rehearsals.. They don't know that when you play "x" it's a particular "x" from a selection of "x-s"..
Check out Rapa's face when I take the shaker out of his hand and point to the other one on the floor when the rezo changes to Ellegua.. Nothing ever happens exactly as you plan it.. :?

I took down a link here that sounds so bad to me that I had to take it down.

Mike had his percussion recital for music college yesterday. Rey Gonzalez danced for Ellegua and Chango, as well as leading the song on Guaguanco and Comparsa. It was a grand time! We were exhausted from the rehearsals and school started back the day of the performance!
A few pics.

And then, two salsa tunes, with folkloric breaks nested in the middle of them.. Whoof!

Absolutely superb series of shots. I can feel the fun, the rhythms, the energy. You all were beautifully immersed.

Thanks CongaTick,
Immersed is right! We had to learn about 10 new vocals in only a few days! It was intense! I handed off my friend's camera to another friend sitting in the audience, and the result was a pleasant surprise.
