I first saw Hubert Laws in 1967 with the Mongo Santamaria band at Carnegie Hall...he is my favorite flute player and what a honor to be able to perform with this musical genius....Thank you Hubert!...

Yes, indeed, JC. That IS how it's done. Just curious---one mic only centered above the quinto? If so, decent mix for a live outdoor recording.

Finally finished my 3rd CD OYE/LISTEN!....I hope to have it ready for release by the end of September..It is basically all Latin Jazz except for 2 rhythmic pieces I added ..a Rumba Guarapachangeo and ol skool Bronx Rumba the way we played it back in the late 60' and 70's... here is the Rumba...im playing it all..and thinking of my Brothers Willie "El Ruso" and Luciano "Chano" Rodriguez(RIP), we were/are drum brothers and played almost every day for many years together...

no vocals, we never really sang when we played, we let the drums do the singing...

Latest video of me with the Latin Jazz band Trombanga here in Washington..the video is loud so lower your speakers before listening to it...the conga solo came first because the band leader will just shout someones name out and off you go...

I hope you enjoy it!... http://youtu.be/KMuoFO9W52U

Trombones and vibes takes me back to the legendary EP/Tjader recordings of the 1960's.
One thing, what kind of pattern if the bongo player playing on the hand bell? To me
it does not sound right at times seems to be all over the place and clashing.
