Hi i take the videos from youtube. and "embed" them on http//www.myspace.com/jcjohnnyconga site... My most memorable gig was the one i predicted to my bro's... 7 of us had gone to a "Latin meets Jazz" concert at Carnegie Hall in NYCity....Mongo Santamaria's band , Willie Bobo's band, Dick Gregory , Nina Simon, Bobby Timmons quartet...Now let me tell u about DESTINY....we ALL bought our tickets at the box office at CH as we entered the hall...the guys were being seated and I couldnt find my seat...the usher came over to me and looked at my ticket and said come with me(now my boys were all in the last row of the bottem of the theatre...MY ticket put me in the only seat left IN THE FRONT ROW of Carnegie Hall! it was unbelievable...when Mongo came on stage i knew that was what i wanted to do for the rest of my life...after the concert we were leaving the theatre, the guys were all freaked out how i got that ticket and I told them at that moment "your gonna see me play here one day!"..that was in 1967... I played Carnegie Hall with Sergio Mendes and Brasil 77 in Nov. of 1979....my prediction had come true and ALL my Bro's were there to see the prediction come true....I have played all over the world in stadiums with 80,ooo people but Carnegie hall in front of the home town, was it for me.....I have no video of that concert, wish i did...

Yeh bro, but that aint saving the vid, if the person who uploaded it cancels their youtube acount or takes down that vid, you lose it. Embeded is just another form of video 'coding' to allow the video box to appear in preview form instead of just a "www.*******.com/video12345" style link.
Encoding does not save or download the video.

There is a free program that lets you download the video off youtube, and you can keep it forever! You can even then put all your favourite clips and burn them onto a DVD disk and watch them on your TV. Ive done this with most of my favourite rare and historic videos Ive found on youtube.

Look into the "youtube downloader". Its what I use to save all them vids to my computer.

I just got this photo today from an old friend of mine who I havent seen since the 60's..this is the earliest photo of me on conga drums. I was around 16-17 in the 60's.. those were my first set of Frank Mesa Eco-Tone "no-neck" fiberglass congas...WOW! I loved those drums....they sounded so good...."JC" Johnny Conga

Here is the first of quite a few more pics of last nights incredible "mini-woodstock"....Michael Schrieve, was just GREAT!...he was truly inspired as was all of the other members of Michael's new band SPELLBINDER...the solo moments of the members of the band drew tremendous applause...Danny Godinez on guitar is almost a total unknown outside of Seattle, HE NEEDS TO BE HEARD!...hes incredible as they all are...Farko the bass player, is from Russia and reminded me of a young Jaco Pastorius and kinda looks like him as well...Joe Dorio another unheard of Seattle original, on Hammond b3 organ, reminded me also of Greg Rollie(Santana) mixed with Jimmy Smith...John Fricke on trumpet, had a very Miles Davis inspired style on muted trumpet but added many colors to the sound of the band, overall...we played Soul Sacrifice 2 times as well as Jungle Strut and the new material of SPELLBINDER....the place was standing room only ...it was filmed but dont know if that will go anywhere...i am not an offical member of Michaels new group as I was in his other band Tangletown, but maybe after last night he'll ask me...let's see what happens...."JC" Johnny Conga

Soul Sacrifice Redux: 40 Years Later

Forty years after his historic Woodstock drum solo, Michael Shrieve played “Soul Sacrifice” at Tost Monday night, wowing a standing-room-only crowd. Here’s a video of the first nine minutes or so, going up through his drum solo. That’s JC Johnny Conga playing congas. The lighting was bad where he was (off stage off to the side), so I didn’t get any video of him, but, man, those congas really make this song. And, yes, that is a Hammond B3. PS. This is us before the gig going over Soul Sacrifice...u can't see me but u can hear me on the video....

I had a GREAT time performing with 9 time Grammy winner Mr. Eddie Palmieri. The very first time I got to play with Eddie was back in 1972 at Avery Fisher Hall in New York city, along with mi pana Eladio Perez, who was Eddie's conguero at the time...we performed this past Thursday night in Tacoma WA. with the Peugot Sound University Orchestra. Bryan Lynch was also on the gig...heeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeer's Eddie and moi....

Great picture. EP is a little mellower nowdays than back in the day although the paper may come off the wall still when he plays.
What did you guys play if you don't mind me asking? Thank You.
